To search Twitter, go to search.twitter.com. There, you can search by user or just use key phrases to find past tweets.

Keep in mind that this will only search public tweets, not private tweets. If you want to search Twitter direct messages, you’re out of luck right now.
At the bottom of search.twitter.com, they show”Trending topics on Twitter”, which are hot topics that people are talking about right now. You can click on any of those topics to read the latest tweets that include that phrase. These are often Twitter hash tags.
